Normann Copenhagen is a Danish design company and brand created by Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen in 1999 with the mission to create original, bold and eye-catching products in a simple and contemporary design that withstands the test of time. Or in other words, to challenge conventional thinking and make the ordinary extraordinary through great and innovative design
More than 50 years after Herbert Krenchel, materials researcher and civil engineer, designed the Krenit bowl, the original minimalistic design has been relaunched by Normann Copenhagen. The Krenit bowl is a perfect example of good Danish design and through the years it has become a design icon. Herbert Krenchel says "In 1953 the idea was to make a beautiful bowl, preferably so functional and delicate it was equally suited for use in the kitchen, on the dining table and as decoration in the sitting room. As a materials researcher I really concentrated on getting the different materials to match and look good together as well as making them equally compatible to use together. It is fantastic that the Krenit bowl is being put into production once more".
With a simple and pure expression, the Krenit range is a contemporary classic which enables a perfect interplay between function and aestheticism. Its characteristic sharp edge creates a balance between material and form, giving the bowl its classic yet contemporary expression. Its shape has set the trend for later designs of bowls, and the shape of the bowl is just as perfectly suited for the home today as then.
Perfect for fruit, salads or simply as a decorative piece the Krenit bowl will be a beautiful addition to your home.
