What started as a glass factory in Iittala, Finland, today celebrates generations of essential objects that are made to enrich people’s everyday lives. Iittala believes objects should be distinctive, combinable and multi-functional, with lasting design that inspires individual use and expression.
Echoing rings of water, the Aino Alto pressed glassware from 1932 is tactile proof that essential design survives the test of time. Simple, space-saving design that permits stacking and versatility were the starting point for these classics. In production since its launch, Aino Aalto glassware now celebrates 80 years of design history and today continues to drive the Iittala design thinking forward.
2020 sees the introduction of a new colour of the year Linen. Inspiration for iitttala's new colour comes from the swaying fields of flax. This nuetral colour has depth and duality - it can be casual, but also feels sophisticated. it is a perfect pair for many other colours.
